One-On-One Mentor
David Sheinkopf taught in the New York school system for ten years and spent the last five developing a curriculum for teaching analog and digital electronics to high school students to prepare them for life in an increasingly digital world. In addition to building custom electronic systems, Sheinkopf is currently the Technology Integrator and Co-Director of Education at Pioneer Works in Red Hook, Brooklyn, where he uses technology as a bridge between art, science, and community. His public programming has taken the form of a 3D-printed boat race (The Red Hook Regatta), a hackathon (Hack Red Hook), and a software conference (Software for Artists Day), and he will be producing Google’s July 2016 Made With Code program.

Prior to this, Sheinkopf worked in a garage that specialized in vintage European sports cars, and his electro-mechanical work has appeared in museums such as MoMA and the Brooklyn Museum in concert with artists ranging from Taylor Swift to Sun Ra’s Arkestra.
