Jason Porath is the author of the viral blog-turned-book Rejected Princesses, which celebrates “women too awesome, awful, or offbeat” for kids’ movies. Each thoroughly-researched entry illustrates a little-known woman of history or myth in irreverent fashion, with a style reminiscent of classic animation.
Previously, Porath worked on animated movies such as How to Train Your Dragon 2, The Croods, and Kung Fu Panda 2. He left the animation industry in 2014 and started Rejected Princesses. The hefty first volume came out in 2016, and he’s working on a second.
Porath spends most of his time in Los Angeles, exploring abandoned buildings and singing a lot of karaoke.
