LISA PARK / thelisapark.com
In her performance-based art practice, Lisa Park strives to create intimate environments and experiences that trigger emotional states and meditative reflections in viewers. Over the past few years, she has explored themes of vulnerability, self-control, and confrontation by integrating biometric sensors (heart-rate and brain wave sensors) into her work, creating a trilogy of performance pieces investigating her physiological and psychological states—Eunoia, Le Violon d’Lisa, and Obsession is sad Passion.
Park was raised in Seoul, South Korea, and currently lives and works in New York City. She received her BFA in Fine Arts Media from the Art Center College of Design, Pasadena, California. She also holds an MPS from the Interactive Telecommunications Program (ITP) at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.
