Luisa Pereira is an artist, programmer, and musician based in New York City. Her work focuses on exploring music through coding and design, taking the form of interactive installations, generative devices, sculptures, and prints.
Pereira’s work has appeared on the websites of Wired UK, Gizmodo, and Creative Applications, and presented at festivals and galleries in New York, London, São Paulo, Buenos Aires, Santiago de Chile, and Montevideo. Recent venues of exhibition include SXSW, the NIME conference, and the FILE festival in Brazil.
Raised in Montevideo, Uruguay, Pereira received a BS in Systems Engineering at Universidad Ort, where she also taught Interaction Design classes. She holds a MS from New York University’s Interactive Telecommunications Program (ITP) and served as a post-graduate research fellow there from 2013 to 2014. She is an adjunct professor at ITP.
