Sonia Shechet epstein
Sonia Shechet Epstein works at the intersection of science and culture. She is currently Executive Editor for the Museum of the Moving Image’s online publication Sloan Science & Film. She has been a mentor at NEW INC since it was first established in 2014. For three and a half years Epstein worked at the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, where she reviewed proposals for a multi-platform arts program designed to enhance the public understanding of science. Prior to that, she worked for Nobel laureate and neuroscientist Eric R. Kandel at Columbia University on the preparation of his book The Age of Insight and helped to produce twenty-four episodes of the Charlie Rose Brain Series on PBS. Epstein has held internships at a variety of cultural institutions such as the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Rubin Museum of Art, and the Chinati Foundation. She graduated magna cum laude from Middlebury College.
