Amanda Schochet is the co-founder of MICRO, an organization that builds and distributes vending-machine-sized science museums designed to reach people as they go about their daily lives. To create its museum series, MICRO partners with active researchers, award-winning designers, storytellers, and engineers. MICRO's mission is to provide equal access to fundamental knowledge. Installations are currently scattered throughout New York City, engaging tens of thousands of visitors each month. Before co-founding MICRO, Schochet was a computational ecologist, working with NASA and USAID to model weather systems, air pollution, and the effects of economic policies.
