Ami Mehta, Avinash Kumar

Based in Goa and New York, Antariksha Studio is a transmedia collective crafting indie video games, films, installations, and performances. Led by Avinash Kumar (Founder and Director) and Ami Mehta (Creative Director), the team consists of animators, dancers, game designers, programmers, writers, researchers, and musicians. On a mission to foster greater diversity in gaming, their speculative designs reference South Asian culture, history, sci-fi, fantasy, and futurism. They use game engines, motion capture, photogrammetry, and 3D-modeling tools to showcase the vibrant art, dance, and music of communities across South Asia. They have received seed grants from Epic Games, Pro Helvetia, and The British Council and showcased their work at Sheffield DocFest, IndieCade, The Roundhouse, and other global venues.
