Martina Abrahams Ilunga is a creative entrepreneur, storyteller, and community builder reimagining the timeless art of oral tradition. Inspired by diasporic interconnectedness and collectivist principles, Martina is building a trusted and sought-after home for global, expansive Black storytelling.

Martina is the founder and CEO of You Had Me at Black, a storytelling studio setting a new standard for Black narratives that prioritizes connection, healing and liberation over representation. As the force behind the award-winning programs You Had Me at Black, NATAL, and forthcoming Black Storytelling Week, the organization’s work lives at the intersection of transformation and entertainment. You Had Me at Black also consults and produces bespoke media for values-aligned partners.

In a past life, Martina spent nearly a decade in marketing and product roles at companies Google and Square after graduating from Georgetown University. She lives in Brooklyn, NY with her love.
