Martina Abrahams Ilunga

Martina Abrahams Ilunga is a creative entrepreneur, storyteller, and community builder innovating the practice of oral tradition. Her mission is to create pathways to connection, healing, and liberation through storytelling. Inspired by diasporic interconnectedness and cooperative economics, Martina is building a trusted and sought-after home for global, expansive, and radical Black storytelling.

Martina co-founded the storytelling platform and studio, You Had Me at Black, which passes a mic to everyday people to share true-life stories in their own words on their podcast and at live storytelling events. As a studio, they produce immersive audio projects for brands and impact organizations. Martina is also an executive producer and host of NATAL, an award-winning podcast docuseries about having a baby while Black.

In a past life, Martina spent nearly a decade in marketing and product roles at companies Google and Square. She lives in Brooklyn with her love.
