Ravon Ruffin

Ravon Ruffin (she/they) is a strategist, community designer, educator, and artist with 10+ years of experience fostering public engagements with art, the Internet, and archives to build more sustainable ecosystems. As the Head of Community Initiatives at New_ Public, Ravon designs programs that center communities to shape the future of digital public spaces. She is also the co-founder and CEO of Brown Art Ink, an experimental thinking studio. Through her studio practice, she has nationally consulted art and cultural institutions in equitable models for community-critical engagement both IRL and URL.

She previously led the curriculum design for New Museum's cultural incubator NEW INC, in addition to supporting other cultural institutions such as The Studio Museum in Harlem, The Museum of Modern Art, and the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture across education, public programs, and digital strategy design. She has a M.A. in American Studies from George Washington University, and a degree in Anthropology from VCU, two cultural landscapes that have deeply shaped her practice.
