Babette Thomas

Babette Thomas is an artist, radio producer and doctoral student in the departments of African-American and American Studies at Yale University. Babette produces podcasts, radio, and sound works about Black history. With experience at institutions such as NPR, The Whitney Museum, NMAAHC and SF MOMA, Babette is interested in how digital media, specifically sound media, can be used as a tool towards public education and memorialization of Black-American history. Drawing from a lineage of 20th century Black radio producers, they seek to make radio with the same richness, artistry and sonic complexity of Black music.
